These days, or rather last year, there were only Focus's and C4's driving around. Yeah it was still a spectacle but there wasn't much in the way of variety. Imagine an F1 race where the whole field was either a Ferrari or a Mclaren. This year things are looking up as Mini have rejoined the series entering the Countyman. It's not a lot better but it's a start.
It seems to have triggered a bit of a trend though. VW are now talking about entering the Polo into next years competition. Well they've kinda gone and done it really. What this means is that next year there will be four cars competing, tough maths I know, but crucially it will mean that the WRC is getting some variety again. Gone will be the days when you see just Focus, C4, C4, C4, Focus, C4, Focus, Focus. I don't think it'll be that great, yet, I will have to wait for a few more manufacturers to join in first. I'm thinking Audi could enter an A1 and maybe Fiat can enter a 500 or Punto.
In any case, it is getting interesting again.
Thankyou very much for reading.
