Today I arrived at college got out of my car to catch the park and ride bus, I do that now, it's less miles and cheaper too.
Thing is, I got on the bus, be stupid not to wouldn't it? I got on the bus and got a seat facing backwards. So what's weird about this whole thing? The answer is that when you're driving you're always facing forwards. I know that's stating the bleeding obvious but it's very poinient. When you accelerate you get pulled back into the seat and when you brake you get pulled forward out of it. Sitting facing backwards the opposite happens. It's really wierd getting pulled forwards as you accelerate. Your speeding up but your brain is just thinking "What's going on? I'm braking but I'm speeding up, this is all wrong."
That's all besides the fact that you're facing backward which is weird in itself. It is quite scary as a matter of fact. Only after sitting backwards can I fully appreciate the feeling of sitting forwards. Plus it's quite strange making direct eye contact with other drivers on the road. But I did consider something.
On long journeys it might be a good idea to have the front passenger facing backward. If you're on a long journey with your wife and kids then it might be a good idea to have your wife looking after the kids or at least having you do it. They'll be less irritating to the driver because a responsible parent can keep them in check. That's great for the driver because they need as gew distractions as possible.
Anyway, sitting facing backwards is a really strange feeling.
