Today I'm going to do the blog I thought I was going to do yesterday.
I was never planning to do that much about the actual car that much but rather talk about what the car actually is. It is a mini MPV which is a very good idea. The Yeti being the most famous and most desireable is the car that I'll be referring back to throughout.
The first thing I like about it is the fact that it isn't that big. Most MPV's are massive which makes them horrible to drive quick and awkward to manouvere in tight spaces. With a Yeti you don't get that because in terms of length it's no longer than a little family hatchback and the width is normal. This means it's not hard to see out of and easier to move around in tight places. It's fantastic in that degree, of course you still have plenty of height so you can fit massive loads in it.
This has knock on benefits but the most logical step is to look at the practicality. The Yeti has seats that can be moved in pretty much any direction forward, backward, folded down and removed all together. If you decide to do the latter then you get a little van, great for hauling stuff to and from garden centres, moving house, going on holiday etc. The Yeti is one of the most practicle cars in the world as are most vehicles of this type.
So what does a car like this feel like to drive. In the case of the Yeti rather good. The most striking thing about it is the little amount of roll you get from the chassis. Normally in a tall car it'll roll a lot in the corners, even more so because they usually have soft suspension to make them comfortable for the many passengers you can get in them. The Yeti just doesn't roll that much because in fact there isn't that much suspension, vehicles like this don't have massively high ride heights. This means it doesn't roll much and you can have soft suspension so it remains comfortable, a clever trick to pull off.
Thankfully due to the low ride height you can make it look normal. The Yeti in particular doesn't look too van like. Oh yeah it's squared off like the Citroen Berlingo that preceeded it but it looks stylish. It's a stylish van. This keeps on going on the inside because it looks well built, it is after all a Volkswagon interior and they are not known for being flimsy. Clarkson managed to prove how sturdy it is by first inviting a massive exciteable dog to retreive a bouncy ball but then had to substitute it for a small dog. In the end he invited the Fire Brigade to climb thorugh it. It stood up to the punishment very well. It is very functional as well which is good because it needs to be.
It is a very hard car to fault is the Skoda Yeti and as a class of car in general it is hard to fault. Do I need to say more?
I'm sorry to report that the servers are still down for the images so I'll just say thankyou for reading.
