Citroen C5 Estate.

It's my birthday today but that won't stop me from blogging, you are too important.

I'm not talking about a specific engine in this entry because I don't think it is necessary. I will let you know that the 2.2 diesel in the car I saw today pulled nicely and wasn't overcome by the size of the car.

The car is a very handsome car to look at, stylish and Germanesque in its appearance. It has very high nose too which makes it less likely to kill someone if you run them over, soap villains planning a murder should steer well clear then, and so should any serial killers. If you are careless around town then this might just be the car for you. I also like the crease down the side, very BMW and stops the doors from being flat pieces of boring metal.

This sense of style continues on the inside, particularly around the instrument binnacle. It feels very Mercedes in this area and you might think you were driving a Merc if it didn't have a constant reminder you were in a Citroen. Not that that's a bad thing because with the arrival of the DS3 Citroen is looking like a cool prospect. Back to the interior, the main dash features much soft touch material and a decent amount of chrome too. The layout is very good and there are a lot of buttons on the wheel. Thankfully the centre of the wheel doesn't move which means all the buttons are in the same place all the time, remember J Clarksons complaints about the 458 Italia (gorgeous name that). I happen to think that it is more stylish than most of its German contemporaries and the German contemporaries are cars that I like a lot.

The load space isn't quite the same as you would get in the German rivals but it isn't bad and the Citroen could be used to carry almost anything. I reckon you could fit a 1:2 scale model of the sea of Cortez in it if you wanted, and considering the ride you wouldn't spill it all over your car either. I think the load space has been sacrificed for a tiny bit of extra leg room, which is no bad thing to be honest because you're more likely to be ferrying people rather than oceans.

I'd have to say that the C5 Estate is a great car and I can easily recomend it to someone who wanted a car that's stylish, comfy, quick, gadgety, roomy and cool.

The image servers are still down so thankyou for reading. Apologies about the servers.
