The mother of all Rip Offs

I'm talking about the Honda CR-Z Mugen.

If you're not familiar with Mugen then they are best described as Hondas AMG division. What they do is take Hondas cars and make them more sporty. Recently they got hold of the previously lukewarm, in the speed department, CR-Z and made it a lot quicker. 0-60 takes the Mugen 6.6 seconds and the top speed is is an unspecified number above 140mph. The reason why it's this quick is because it's had its power upped to 197bhp and had 110kgs shaved from its weight.

Quite how it handles in the corners I don't know. If the metamorphosis is anyway near similar to that seen in the power department then expect it to be pretty good. The styling is just the same as normal CR-Z except it has all the sports add ons. Flared arches, a humongous spoiler and some wings on the front wings. What isn't so ordinary is the carbon fibre roof and bonnet. The reason they are there is because it keeps the centre of gravity low in the car which means it rolls less in the corners.

The interior remains pretty much unchanged so if you read my report on the original CR-Z then you'll know what you cna expect. Otherwise I'll be typing the same thing twice, which is something that I don't like doing. If you do need a summary then I'll say that it is an adequately comfortable environment to be in.

What the CR-Z Mugen RR is then is a sporty looking car, like a standard CR-Z, that is actually sporty. The added bonus being that it retains the hybrid tech which means it can still hit 40mpg, which is better than some superminis. So my report is nothing but positive. How then is this car the mother, father, grandfather, I think you get the picture, of all rip offs? Quite simple really. If this car had cost something like £35,000 it'd be worth it. So guess how much it does cost. No, you're very wrong, the Honda CR-Z Mugen RR costs, and there's no other way of saying this, £150,000. 150! That's supercar price. Take stock a second, you could buy a Porsche 911 for that money, an Aston Martin even, hell that's not far off the price of a Ferrari 458 Italia. How can a Honda that takes 6.6 seconds to do 60 be worth the same as these supercars?

No way in hell is  how. Thankyou for reading my blog and I hope you return again soon.
