America vs England

I am talking about Go Karting, about time to, I do it enough and should have talked about it multiple times by now.

I've done Go Karting in both the US of A and in the U of K and although they are both Go Karting experiences they are dramatically different. These differences relate mainly to the speed you go, what you pay for and the layout of the track.

In America the adult karts go around 25mph but at my local the adult karts do 70mph. I think that we can call this quite a significant difference. Needless to say that this has everything to do with stricter health and safety regulations. In America you even have to produce a driving license that you have held for three years to get on, you don't even have to do that to do a supercar driving experience in this country. If you're thinking this is over the top for 25mph karts then I agree with you.

At my local, don't worry, I'll tell you what  my local is in a few moments, you pay for a race of 10 laps quali and a 30 lap race, or a ten minute session. In the USA you pay for laps and because of that you stop every lap to hand a band over to a martial. There is no such thing on this side of the Atlantic which means you don't have to stop every lap.

The tracks are alos different. In America the track was long but it was just two figures of eight joined end on end. Here? I'm not sure how I'd describe the shape because it doesn't have one. What I can tell you is that the layout is far more interesting than a figure of eight.

The end result is that Go Karting in the USa is a waste of time, especially if you've done it here. My local is St Eval Kart Circuit and I have been Go Karting there since my junior years, around 14 or something like that. Here is a link to their website. http://www.cornwallkarting.com/.
