Sorry about the absence of a blog in the last few days, but I have been busy and there were some power cuts yesterday.
But I'm back and I'm going to talk about safety in motorsport. After Robert Kubicas crash I'll bet that there are people out there calling for more safety measures in motorsport. I wonder if they should however. That might sound like I like the idea of drivers getting hurt, but I don't. By the same token I don't think that motorsport should be made too safe. I believe that there should be a certain element of risk in doing it. I say this because I think that it's the risk that makes you respect the drivers so much, and, in some ways adds to the excitement. If drivers never got hurt then motorsport would lose an element in the same way that you can't have big trees without stumpy roots! I don't know but then how would you feel when you know that there isn't a chance of injury?
Either way I hope Kubica gets well soon and returns to the sport before too long. I also hope it doesn't take so long before I put up another blog!
