Ferrari have done it. They've replaced the 612 Scaglietti. It was Ferraris only true four seater vehicle but it wasn't a looker.
The new car is also a genuine four seater and again it isn't brilliantly good looking. To me it looks like a BMW one series that was put on a medieval torture rack. So far and nothing has changed. It has a V12 engine as well. It also happens to be a 65 degree engine, just the same as the 612s.
You go on and there are more similarities, so many in fact that you start to wonder if there are any differences at all. Well there are.
First of all is that the engine in the FF produces 650bhp compared to the 612s 540. This means it's very fast for it's size. It'll hit 62 in 3.7 seconds and go on to a top speed of 205mph where the pitiful 612 can only manage 4 seconds to 60 and a top speed that is one mile an hour shy of 200.
Also different is the inclusion of four wheel drive. So it's probably going to be a Ferrari that isn't jittery to drive. The 612 was never bad in that respect but as you might imagine with rear wheel drive and 540bhp it wasn't too hard to get the arse to kick itself out in a corner.
So far no images have been released of the interior but I would expect it to be exotic. I reckon it'll be something similar to the California. I have seen the bottom of it through the rear window in the pictures and it looks Californiaesque.
But to be honest I reckon it will be a massive flop. Partly because it's expensive (it is a Ferrari so it would be) and also because it looks horrible.
