In this blog I'm looking back and getting nostalgic. Coming up are a few of the best quotes from my blog over the last three years. In case you were wondering why I haven't blogged in a while it is because I was re-reading my old ones. I've done it now though and here we are.
They are in order from oldest post to newest. I'll put a link to all the posts quoted at the bottom of the page, ok, here we go!
1. G-Whizz name issues.
Name wise I take exception to the G-Whizz which (thinking in a slightly dirty context here) could be mispronunciated! You know what I mean?
2. Remembering a fallen comrade.
I start by praying for a moments silence! A seconds thought for a car now sadly deceased! My old Citroen AX 1.1 Echo. Alas he will be missed.
With that done I must now turn my attention to finding a replacement.
3. The Galibiers big problem.
Yet there's a problem. Unlike the Veryon I don't think the Galibier is a good looking car. From the side on it looks like a Porsche Panamera. Disgusting in other words.
4. Why GT3 is awesome!
Let's just say that it has everything F1 doesn't! Overtakes.
5. Winding up your own windows is slavery!
It's so nice to press a button rather than manually winding up your own windows. Doing it manually sort of feels like slavery, all be it not as intense.
6. The Seat sensory deprivation tank.
Nice though it may be I didn't get too much of a sense of purpose. In fact it felt like I had no senses left (other than sight).
7. The Seat Electrocution!
I also didn't like the fact that it gave me electric shocks every time I closed the door. The only time it didn't was when I gave it back to the dealer.
8. The science of blending children and cars!
My conclusion is that cars and kids are not two things to put in a blending machine! Well not supercars and kids. Not that you could of course because the car wouldn't fit. The kids would be fine but definately not the car!
9. The camera hates the Porsche Panamera!
In photo's it is undeniably terrible, like a troll jumping out from under a bridge.
10. This is how the Veryon came to be.
Then some bloke form Germany who owns Volkswagon and has lots of money to waste, decided he didn't like the Mclaren very much! So he set some wheels in motion. It started with his buying of a dead Italian supercar company called Bugatti. He then told his engineers that he wanted to make a car that could do 253mph and everyone called him mad as a result. They made it anyway and the resulting car emerged from a factory in France (of all places) and did 253mph.
11. Everything the Atom doesn't have!
£150,000. For that you don't get a lot of things. A bodyshell being the biggest. Nor any of this: CD Player, I Pod connectivity, Dual Zone climate control (depends on the weather), radio, a boot big enough to fit a baguette, much in the way of anti theif control, no doors, no roof, no windscreen worth mentioning, no wipers for what you do have and most importantly, no dignity when you face is flapping around in the wind when driving around town or indeed anywhere.
12. The Nissan Micra Travelodge.
I can tell you first hand that the materials are as premium as a Trevelodge and offer about as much visual pleasure as dung heaps!
13. The Veryon SS is exceptional or the G-Whizz is awful!
I mean it's a full G Whizz faster than a Lamborghini Mucielago LP 640.
14. A summary of bad things about batteries in eco cars.
So let's summarize here; they're slow, expensive, poluting, impracticle and energy inefficient.
15. The fact of the Dagger!
It has 2,000bhp. It will do 0-60 in 1.5 seconds. It will then go on to achieve 300mph.
The people behind the car say that they will not give up until these goals are achieved.
Ah.
16. A summary of the Mini Clubman.
The thing also looked stupid as it looked like a Mini Copper that had ate a few too many cakes.
17. The MP4-dew filled meadow!
What you probably don't know, however, is that this car is like stepping out of a smokers parlour and into a dew filled meadow.
18. The Jaguar XK something or other.
What started as the XK, became the XKR and now the XKR-S. Where does it end? XKR-S RS GT Scuderia Superleggera Black edition?
19. The hospital horror.
What if someone was there to visit a family member on their deathbed? Well you're going to have to pay £6-£15 for the privilege.
20. The Ford Bolt!
But since this is my car I'm going to say that it goes like a mechanical incarnation of Usain Bolt.
21. Cars can cry for Mummy.
I open the door with no trouble and raise my foot to step inside when all of a sudden the baby Aston cried for mummy. I explained, with humble contrition engraved on my face, to the attendant that it wasn't my intention to steal it.
22. The good thing about the Skoda Felicia.
The only good thing about the car is that it isn't made any more.
23. Jenson Forgotten.
I'm not sure how best to put this but, um, Jenson Button forgot he's a Mclaren driver at todays Chinese GP.
24. The Ford Tardis.
I'm not quite sure why (it really isn't a small car after all) but when you walk up to it you kind of expect it to be the same size as an ordinary saloon car. Get in however and oh my God, it's huge. You look behind you and it looks like it's going on for miles, hell, look in front and it goes on for miles. It's just like "where did that come from?"
25. More G-Whizz bashing!
The Nissan Leaf is the first electric car to go on sale as it goes on sale later this year. I do not want to hear any rubbish about the G Whizz at this point because that thing (let's not call it a car shall we) is absolutely terrible and even so, the EU doesn't class it as a car, they class it as a Quadricycle.
Well there you are. 25 of my best quotes from the early days of my blog. As promised here are the links to the blogs themselves. You can marvel at my early attempts to master the Blogger formatting tools. They are listed in order of appearence in the main body of this blog.
