Human beings are lazy by nature. Yes I like making controversial statements and something that I've learnt is that you need evidence to back them up. Fortunately I have that evidence. OK right now what would you rather do? You're options are as follows, read the rest of this blog, do the hoovering up in your house, watch some TV or go for a two mile run. There is no correct answer of course and don't worry I will get on to cars in but a moment.
I would make a guess that you didn't consider doing the hoovering because that takes too much effort and is one of those things that you don't particularly get much pleasure from. You do it because you have to otherwise your house would look like s***! Similar story with the run, you do it because if you didn't you would look like s***. I hope your answer was to read the rest of the blog but I've got to admit to you that it's an activity that takes no physical effort and is something you can do lazily with a laptop perched on the sofa enjoying a nice lye down.
I do apologise if I've depressed you but it's true. Don't get me wrong, we all need rest and rehab otherwise we'd simply fall apart, or drop dead. My point was merely that if we don't have to do something that takes effort we probably won't. This moves me on to the Citroen C4.
I have blogged about this car before or so I think, it might have been the DS4 but in any case the C4 has had some new updates made to it's technology list. It was highlighted in a recent advert I saw on TV and the little gadget is a blind spot detector which checks your blind spot when driving so that you don't have to.
Quite how it does this I have no idea, maybe it vibrates the seat every time there's something there, I'm not sure because I haven't had a chance to test it. The important point is that you don't have to check the blind spot when you merge lanes on the motorway. Looking over your shoulder when driving isn't particularly exerting but if you didn't have to do it would you? The answer is an emphatic no. I admit when first seeing it advertised thinking it was marvellous but then the thought creeped in will this cause people to start neglecting other checks? Checks like whether or not anyone is behind you when reversing, mirror checks in general or speed checks.
Maybe it won't come to that and I hope it doesn't but it is something worth considering, just in case. Either way the technology is here and it will be a good fail safe. This is the other side of the argument of course that it'll provide good backup in the inevitable event of human error!
I'm getting lost here so I'm going to pose the question whether or not you think that bringing in gadgets to replace various human checks is a good idea? Thank you for reading today and please return again tomorrow.
