So Smooth.

Oh so smooth. My car is the subject of todays Blog and it takes centre stage because of a personality overhaul.

It started with an oil leak that magically cleared itself up and then moved on to a worrying noise coming from the steering rack, sounded like a stone had got caught up in it or something of that nature. It rattled whenever I turned the wheel is what it was doing.

However as with the oil leak it cleared itself up and with that oil leak don't think it ran out of oil because I checked and the level was fine. What happened next was most unusual. I was driving back from colledge and for some reason everything just worked better than ever before.

The clutch felt so smooth as it came up, no jerk or extra pressure at any point and it made every gear change perfect. The gear box worked with a smotthness I'd never encountered before, it's usually a bit sticky! The steering needed less lock than before and for some reason gave me more feel so I was just making small adjustments and calmly, almost carressing the wheel. The suspension felt firm but not hard! A perfect ride with very little roll. Corners? So easy to take fast.

But on top of all that the engine which has always been my least favourite part of my car (due it's realtive lack of grunt) decided to find an extra 15bhp or so. Felt like it at least. The acceleration away from junctions and roundabouts was awesome (compared to before) and I was able to go for more daring overtakes. I decided not to find out if this translated into a higher top speed! All the while I was kept in complete comfort by the heaters and seats.

It was a very enjoyable drive and oddly it has stayed this way ever since. I'm in no hurry for that to change!
