Fact one is that the V8 engine produces 500bhp in all out race trim specification. The car weighs a little over 500KG. The car produces more power per tonne than a GP2 racing car. GP2 is the main support series for F1. In fact there aren't many racing cars that do have a higher power to weight ratio than that! Of course with stats like that you are going to go fast. I mean really fast.
Accelerating to 60mph doesn't take long at all. Alledgedly it takes just 2.3 seconds. 2.3? That means it accelerates to 60mph in almost less than half the time of an Aston Martin DB9, and the Aston isn't exactly a slow car. The Atom will then do 0-100 in a mind bending 5.4seconds. And to put that into perspective that is about a second quicker than a BMW 330i would take to get to 60! It's one of the fastest road cars ever made.
If this is sounding interesting then I can assure you the price might be a bit of a deterence. £150,000. For that you don't get a lot of things. A bodyshell being the biggest. Nor any of this: CD Player, I Pod connectivity, Dual Zone climate control (depends on the weather), radio, a boot big enough to fit a baguette, much in the way of anti theif control, no doors, no roof, no windscreen worth mentioning, no wipers for what you do have and most importantly, no dignity when you face is flapping around in the wind when driving around town or indeed anywhere.
Still you've gotta love it. It's a machine, it's hard to call it a car, that you buy because you want it. You buy it to have fun! I mean lets face it it's hardly got any other use. You'd have to have absoloutely no common sense to buy it and that's why it's as cool as hell frozen over.

And I'm going to apologise because I can't find a piccy of the, um, well, interior, if you can say it has one.
