Seat Price Cuts

Maybe with a slightly biased view this is great news. The model specifically affected is the Ibiza and is my personal favourite.

When I recieved one as a courtesy car for a week I was no less than impressed. It was quick on the straights, for a 1.4 and cornered with ease. I liked the feel of the thing thanks mainly to the speed responsive steering. It's received mixed reviews in the press but I found it worked brilliantly, being nice and soft at low town speeds but firming up at around 35 giving me extra confidence in the corners. I also liked the styling, the interior and the refinement. In fact I often took the opportunity to take it out on a nice little night route, without many other cars around, to enjoy driving it as I wanted. To be honest I loved it. My only two gripes were that the throttle and brake were poorly positioned with the brake pedal being a lot higher up. It means you actually have to strain your foot to reach it, not comfortable for periods where you are braking a lot. The other issue was that it liked to give me electric shocks every time I got out. Fortunately it held off doing this when I gave it back to the dealers.

All in all it is a very nice car and the news that they are getting cheaper coinciding with a range revision is good news. The three door models will remain as they are but the five door models will be, on average, £550 cheaper.

As for the revisions, well they are fairly standard. Headlight reshaping has been done and you now have the option of adding bi xenon lights with LEDs'. The front grill is smaller and lower (like the FR models). The rear lights have been restyled too and the FR get LED lighting as standard. As you can see these are all radical changes (not). The interior will be more noticeable with a redesigned steering wheel, a new climate control console and a bigger glovebox.

I'm not sure if these changes will have any real effect on how it drives or how it feels to own but that doesn't really matter. The car is very nice as it is and
