This isn't a weird sexual fantasy, it's a high performance car.
I stumbled across it whilst scrolling through the Autocar news. F&M stands for Faralli and Mazzanti and is the latest company in Italy that thinks Ferrari is a company full of idiots and acted upon this by building its own car. What results is the Evantra.
There will be two engines available. Both of them are 3.5 litre flat sixes but one of them is naturally aspirated and the other has two turbos bolted on to it. The o natural version has 392bhp and the turbo? 587bhp and this 500bhpness allows the Evantra to punch 60mph on the face in a mere 3.7 seconds. This is pretty quick for a first attempt. Is it that quick for a modern supercar? Get back to me on that one.
How much does this cost? No one knows apart from F&Ms accountant. You might be wondering if I have any guesses and if you are then good news, I do. A bespoke Italian supercar from a brand new company? Let's see, how does £345,000 sound? I think a good guess.
This looks like it might be the shortest blog in the history of blogging but I do have some points about the styling to make. It doesn't look super beautiful from the front and has a very substance over style feel to it. The rear wheel is lost under the rear arch. It's big hipped but despite these two minor issues from the back it looks pretty good. The roof mounted air vent is very Mclaren F1 GTesque, see Forza 4 for details. I also like the fact that the two rear lights have eyebrows and the exhaust looks strangely businesslike. The major point is what happens when you open the doors because these are very style led. The doors are rear hinged and raise up with the door line which reminds me a bit of a peacock display. I suspect these will be flaunted by cocks. Even so they look pretty.
There are some minor details available on the chassis construction. Apparently it will be built with composite materials or aluminium the latter apparently being offered with customisation options although I have no idea what they may be.
I shan't comment on the interior because I haven't seen it and nor have seen an obstructed view of it either and as such I shall leave you for now and pop up that image.
