Getaway Vehicles

Two weeks ago I watched a film called the Next Three Days. It stars Russell Crowe but more importantly, Liam Neeson. There was one scene in it that got me thinking. Monsuer Crowe had proceeded to shoot someone dead and then, to make his escape, uses a Toyota Prius.

Now I'm not sure what car I'd use as a getaway vehicle but the one car I know I wouldn't use is a Prius. It's not very fast and it's not got very good handling. I daresay that it's not bulletproof either. Question is, what car would I use?

You might think it's obvious and say the Bugatti Veryon SS but it's not that simple. Yes the SS has 1,200bhp and can do 268mph but they are in short supply. It might be as easy to find me after the chase as it would be for me to win the chase itself.

You'll find a similar issue if you use cars from Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche and other similar manufacturers. They're so exclusive that tracking you down isn't going to be hard to do.

The solution I would think is to use something like a Z4 or a 370Z. Still fast but not as exclusive. Even better than that. Why not a BMW 330i or an Audi A4 2.0i? Fast but not limited to one model within a 1,000 mile radius.
